What is ASA Filament? The Outdoor 3D Printing Plastic

What is ASA Filament?

Why ASA for outdoor

ASA was originally designed for outdoor signage and automotive trim. It holds up to UV, heat and rain far longer than ABS or PLA, which both yellow and embrittle in sunlight.

Print settings

  • Nozzle: 240 to 260 C
  • Bed: 95 to 110 C with glue stick or ABS slurry
  • Enclosure: recommended for prints over 80 mm
  • Layer fan: off or minimal

ASA-CF for engineering

Carbon fibre filled ASA adds stiffness and dimensional stability while keeping the UV stability. The go-to for outdoor brackets, drone parts and functional outdoor builds.
