Why Does My Filament Tangle?
Common causes
- Loose spool end: always thread the end through the spool hole when storing
- Dropped spool: coils get jammed under each other, tangle inevitable
- Cheap spool design: thin or warped spool sides let coils slip and cross
- Filament feed direction: tugging filament backwards through the extruder pulls slack into the spool, then tangles on next forward feed
- Two prints on one spool overlap: pause the first print, swap spools cleanly, do not let the spool sit loose
