I currently use 7-10 different suppliers for filament, I have multiple custom colours that are specifically made for me.
You may see batches being offloaded for 1/2 price if the filament colour is too far off.
Why does this happen?
the factory has their own set of colours and sometimes they themselves mess up hex codes, its happened a few times before.
How to solve it?
starting now I have created a sample swatch set which will become the standard for colour as the reference batch. all filament will be matched to this colour going forward starting next year. this should ensure colours as close as possible to whats advertised.
If you want consistent colours, please buy as many as you need from the same batch for the timebeing, usually the colour shifts only happen to 1/40 colours on a shipment so its not common but can happen.
