Storage tiers
- Bag plus silica gel: original packaging, resealed (fine for months)
- Sealed dry box plus bulk silica: passive long-term storage
- Active dehumidifier dry box: premium long-term
- Active filament dryer: required for nylon, helpful for TPU
Organisation tips
- Label every spool with material, colour and date opened
- Group by material family for fast finding
- Keep most-used colours in front
- Store spools horizontally if your shelving allows (less spool sag)
- Track silica gel colour indicator: regenerate or replace when colour shifts
