What is ABS Filament?
What ABS is good for
- Parts that face indoor heat (over 50 C)
- Tool housings and electronics enclosures
- Vapour-smoothable display pieces (acetone smoothing)
- Lego-style functional bricks
- Automotive interior trim
Print settings
- Nozzle: 240 to 260 C
- Bed: 95 to 110 C with ABS slurry or glue stick
- Enclosure: strongly recommended
- Layer fan: off or minimal
ABS vs ASA
ABS prints almost identically to ASA, but ASA has much better UV stability. For outdoor parts, pick ASA. For indoor heat-tolerant parts, ABS works.
