Nylon Filament Australia: PA in Stock
Nylon in stock
Standard PA (nylon) shipped from the Sydney warehouse. Always store in a sealed dry box between prints; the silica gel and resealable bag every spool ships in is the minimum.
Print at a glance
- Nozzle: 240 to 270 C depending on grade
- Bed: 70 to 110 C with glue stick on glass or PEI
- Enclosure: recommended for prints over 100 mm
- Speed: 30 to 50 mm/s
- Drying: 80 C for 8 to 12 hours before printing (mandatory)
- Hardened nozzle: required for any filled nylon grade
Best uses for nylon
- Gears and meshing parts (low friction)
- Living hinges that survive thousands of cycles
- Snap-fit clips that take repeated stress
- Drone frames and structural brackets
- Prosthetic and orthotic components
- Anything that needs impact resistance plus slight flex
Moisture is the #1 issue
Nylon absorbs water from air aggressively. A spool left out for 24 hours absorbs enough moisture to print badly: popping, foaming, brittle prints. Dry every time. Print directly from a filament dryer if possible.
