What is TPU Filament?

The Shore hardness range

Shore A is the scale for soft elastomers; Shore D is for harder plastics. 85A is rubber-band soft. 95A is the everyday default for phone cases and wheels. 98A is firm flex. 75D is semi-rigid plastic feel.

Print settings

  • Nozzle: 220 to 240 C
  • Bed: 40 to 60 C with glue stick or PEI
  • Speed: 15 to 30 mm/s for soft TPU
  • Retraction: low (0.5 to 2 mm direct drive)
  • Extruder: direct drive strongly preferred
