Extruded in Sydney

CNTRL P is a 3D printer filament brand made in Sydney. It is extruded, checked and dispatched in Australia by Siddament. The extrusion line, the quality checking and the dispatch are all in the same building.

A restock is a production run down the road, not a container crossing an ocean. Weeks rather than months.

Measured diameter on every spool

The diameter is measured on the line as the spool is wound, and that spool's own number is what you can look up. Not a figure copied off a datasheet. Look yours up on the check your spool page.

Common questions

Where is CNTRL P PETG made?

Sydney. The extrusion line, the quality checking and the dispatch are all in the same building.

What printers does CNTRL P PETG work with?

Any printer that runs standard 1.75mm filament. It also supports the open filament tag standard, so a compatible machine can read the spool and load the right settings for it.

Why only black and white?

Because they are the easiest colours to keep identical from run to run, and they cover most real work. Prove the process on the colours that hold best, then add the ones that are harder.

Can I get a custom colour?

Yes, and that is one of the real advantages of local extrusion. Bring a hex, a Pantone reference or a physical sample. See the custom colour page.

Is PETG stronger than PLA?

PETG is tougher than PLA but not stiffer. PETG flexes and absorbs impact where PLA cracks, and PETG keeps its shape to about 75°C against roughly 55°C for PLA. PLA is the stiffer of the two, so it wins for rigid parts kept at room temperature.

What temperature should I print PETG at?

PETG usually prints with the nozzle at 230 to 250°C and the bed at 70 to 85°C. Run the part cooling fan at 30 to 50 percent. Too much cooling weakens the bond between PETG layers, and too little causes sagging on overhangs.

Does PETG need an enclosure?

PETG does not need an enclosure. PETG warps far less than ABS or ASA and prints well on an open printer. An enclosure can help very large PETG parts in a cold room, but most PETG prints do not need one.

About PETG filament

PETG is a tough, slightly flexible 3D printer filament that handles more heat than PLA. It holds its shape to about 75°C, resists moisture and most chemicals, and prints without an enclosure.

What PETG is good for

PETG suits brackets, enclosures, garden and garage parts, printer parts and anything that takes knocks. It bends before it snaps, where PLA cracks. It is not UV stable over years in full sun, so for long term outdoor parts ASA is the better pick.
